Creative Critical Reflection 4

4. How did you integrate technologies- Software, Hardware, and Online- In this project?
For my product Modern Politics I integrated mainly Software and Online technologies. In regards to Hardware, very little was used, since with magazine I used mainly just a MacBook laptop to do all my development and editing on. In terms of software, I used Microsoft Publisher, Word, and MagazineDesigning.com for ideas on layout. For the blog posts regarding my magazine I used Blogger. As of Online, same as software I used Blogger for my blog post on the production process of my magazine and online apps such as Microsoft Publisher and Word to develop my magazine and also I gathered information from online political magazine and newspapers companies like the New York Times and The Washington Post. This helped me develop a similar layout which would be popular among my audience. I integrated these by all providing my sources in my different blog posts about the production and use of these technologies. I also used one technology to help another, which brought the production of my magazine along more smoothly.

Creative Critical Reflection 3

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
Throughout this project, with feedback from peers and my teacher, I feel my skills set on magazine design has developed greatly. My ideas went from just thoughts to actually real, designed work that I feel I have revised and perfected to what I wanted it to be. My knowledge expanded on color themes, how to attract readers, article ideas, different conventions that can attract different social groups and audiences, and how to creatively criticize my own work, reflect on it, and make revisions that make my project beyond skilled. With this Creative Critical Reflection, I still find some final touches I can make to my project to make fit beyond my perfectionism. My productivity has increased in every aspect of this project and I expect it to expand more.

Creative Critical Reflection 2

2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
Modern Politics engages my target audience by attracting them with news that is relevant and beneficial to the reader. This means that my product provides a students, adults, and the average person articles about science, finance, politics and overall just the world around them. this engages the audience with whatever they are targeting to read and indulge in. Modern Politics will be distributed as a bi monthly print magazine. Readers have to subscribe on magazine ads that deliver to any place or online. Online digital distribution happens daily, around 100 articles will be uploaded daily by many special guest authors, journalists, and Op-eds by experienced editors. The magazines can be found in any place with stands and or bookstores and places that have sections specialized to books, newspapers, and magazines stands i.e Barnes and Noble or a grocery store news stand.

Creative Critical Reflection 1

1. How does your product use or challenge convention and how does it represent social groups or issues?

My magazine Modern Politics challenged many convections. In regard to the color scheme the colors I used a black and white filter to incite a old- time feel. My cover photo was of a gavel. This is a central image, which a convention I used to attract a certain reader. The gavel is iconic and gave the impression that the magazine had something to do with law and/or politics. I used cover lines on the cover page of the article names to give a sense of the articles that would be featured in the magazine. My use of questions gave the impression that there will be a interview and many different articles. Each of which representing a different social group or class. My magazine represents many social groups, both politically and socially. The representation in my magazine represents many different social groups. Both Republican, Democrat, and Independents. In the articles, they are written by many different perspectives on many different age groups. Because all political groups are in Modern Politics, socially, all groups except those who are far to either side politically. Regarding age many age groups are represented as well al those of different races and financial backgrounds. Modern Politics is all inclusive.

AICE QUARTER 3 Submission

For my third quarter submission. I made two main revisions. For first revision, I edited my interview by emboldening the questions so its easier to track the questions and answers. I also added a darker background color and a lighter text color so its easier to read the text. I also added columns so its easier to read and wont take up too much space.
For my second revision, I edited my table of contents. I added a darker background color and a lighter text color so its easier to read the text. The darker color compliments the black and white photos and and text.

"Modern Politics" Distribution Plan

For Modern Politics digital distribution as well as print distribution would work wonderfully. For print, a distribution of bi-monthly would be most effective. Just as other political magazines i.e New York Times, Washington Post, etc. In terms of digitally, a website with a daily or bi or try-weekly posts would be the same as most successful political magazines. As well as using young activists and influencers to spread knowledge of the issues debated and talked about in this magazine. As well as ads on social media platforms such as Youtube, Instagram, and possibly a series with a host on Snapchat like Good Luck America.

Digital Distribution 3- The New York Times

Digital Distribution 2- Becoming by Michelle Obama

Digital Distribution for print such as a book or magazine is very similar to digital distribution for film. Michelle used lots of forms of PR to distribute.  Print is digitally distributed through online reading platforms and excerpts being shown on digital shows and platforms. Becoming by Michelle Obama digitally distributes by appearing on TEDTALKs so spread the books audience. She also appeared on Talk shows which gives a audio portion of the digital distribution they used.

Traditional Distribution

Traditional marketing is any type of marketing or advertising method. These methods are used by certain companies for years, and that has a proven success rate. Methods of traditional marketing can include print advertisements, billboards, flyers or pamphlets, TV, newspaper, radio, etc. Traditional distribution is not as popular today since digital distribution exists and our society revolves around technology. Traditional Distribution is used in metropolitan cities mainly like in cities such as New York City, you can see traditional distribution everywhere. From newsstands and subscription distribution to taxis with print advertisements, newspaper stands, and large billboards in Times Square and around the city.

Marketing Research 3- Becoming by Michelle Obama

The marketing research I found on Becoming was very vast. Michelle team used lots of forms of PR to distribute. Print is digitally distributed through online reading platforms and excerpts being shown on digital shows and platforms. They had ads on lots of television networks.  Becoming by Michelle Obama digitally distributes by appearing on TEDTALKs as well as having popular celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Gayle King to bring in more younger and "hip" audiences as well as long time viewers of these popular celebrities. She also used social media to her advantage and used influencers and Snapchat and Instagram ads for Becoming.

Marketing Research 2- The New York Times

The New York Times is an American newspaper based in New York City with worldwide influence and readership. Founded in 1851, the paper has won 125 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any other newspaper. The Times is ranked 17th in the world by circulation and 2nd in the U.S. Regular readers of the New York Times. The NYT markets very differently. In New York City you can see ads on taxi cabs and on buildings. However they use newspaper stands and online ads to market their company. According to their website their marketing values say "Marketing plays a key part in extending the journalistic legacy and mission of The Times into the future. Our job is to answer the question, “Why is quality journalism worth paying for?” We create purposeful marketing that demonstrates our mission, how we’re leading the journalism industry and all the ways our readers can subscribe."
